After hundreds of miles of testing, our new favorite trail running shoe is the La Sportiva Jackal. It won our best overall trail running shoe in our Best Men's Trail Running Shoes and Best Upgrade Trail Running Shoe in our Best Women's Trail Running Shoes guide. The Jackal II unseated long-time winners and blew us away with its fit and grippy tread. Unlike many La Sportiva shoes, it fit our wide feet.

The overall winner of the Best Ski Goggles guide has been our choice for a long-time for a reason.
You won’t find this level of comfort, sizing for all shapes of faces, and lots of customizability with frames and lens in other ski goggles.
If you ski more than 10 days a year, these are the ski goggles we recommend. While they are on the higher-end, we think when it comes to protecting your eyes and seeing where you are going on the snow, this is one place worth investing.
All Smith Goggles are 20% off as part of the Gear Up Get Out Sale.
23. outdoor research alti ii Gore-tex ski mittens
The Outdoor Research Alti II gloves are winners in our Best Ski Gloves for Best for Extreme Cold.
The insulation on the Alti II was top notch. We couldn’t find a warmer glove—unless you want to spend a couple extra hundred dollars for a heated glove. Our writers have pretty much converted to just using the Alti Mittens. Heated gloves are heavy and batteries don’t last long.
The Alti II keeps hands warm just from superior insulation and waterproof Gore-Tex breathable outer fabric.
The Alti II makes a great gift for someone whose hands are always cold—or for yourself.
All Outdoor Research Gloves are 20% off.

25. nalgene water bottle
We love having a few Nalgene bottles around. They’re nearly indestructible and leakproof. And they’re not too expensive, so if we lose them or loan them to a friend, it doesn’t hurt as bad as some of the spendier bottles out there.
That’s why we couldn’t help but choose these tried and true bottles as the overall winner in our Best Water Bottles for Hiking guide
For the Gear Up Get Out sale, they’re 50% off the REI logo Nalgane, making it a great time to replace the one you lost at that festival.
